This is a modern garden inspired by the natural ravine landscape north of Chicago. The garden evoked the upland forest near Lake Michigan using the native local flora. The dramatic glass sculpture ‘Glacier’ was under lit by LED’s. The show garden was sponsored by Lake Forest Garden Club: The ravine ecosystem found in the Great Lakes of North America inspired our garden of plants indigenous to the region. Formed by glacial retreat during the last ice age, ravines are a fragile legacy of past global warming and a reminder of the invaluable diversity of life on earth. Our garden was intended to inform and inspire the preservation and restoration of these natural treasures.
